Products I Love

Whiteboard Notebook

I bought this whiteboard notebook 9 years ago and have used it almost daily since! I first started using it as an Executive Administrator answering phone calls all day - it was a much better alternative to using sticky notes every time I had to take a message! I also used the notebook a lot while I was deployed, since it made it easy to take quick notes from the SCIF to other offices.

I ended up buying my own marker to use, but other than that I’ve been very happy with this product and highly recommend it for those who are jotting down quick notes throughout the day!

Erasable Pens & Highlighters

I was so excited when I first learned of these and use them constantly now! Both the pens and highlighters are satisfying to write with, and easily erase on almost all types of paper (they struggled to fully erase on really waxy paper).

The company has a lot of other colors available, but I personally prefer the black and blue pens since they write a little bit darker and I’ve noticed the lighter colors (for both the pens and highlighters) are a little bit harder to read.

Motion Board for Your Desk

If you’re also a fidgeter while you’re working, you may enjoy this motion board (or other similar products)! I used to sit on a large exercise ball at work, but when I bought a standing desk 2 years ago it wasn’t tall enough anymore, so I bought this motion board instead and love it. I use it every time I’m sitting now, too, not just for standing.

The board gives a padded surface to stand/rest your feet on, elevates your legs to relieve pressure from sitting too long, and lets you move a little bit while working. It’s held up really well and I highly recommend it!

Panda Planner

While I also use Excel and other digital task trackers, I’ve always been a huge fan of hard copy planners and rely on them to stay organized every day (there’s something so satisfying about physically crossing something off your list imo). I currently use a planner I made for myself, but my love of planners started with Panda Planner almost 10 years ago.

Panda Planner states it was developed based on research and testing in fields such as neuroscience and psychology, and I think it does a beautiful job integrating journal prompts and daily/weekly/monthly goal care reviews with your task list/calendar. When I was struggling to find healthy routines in a high tempo job, this planner made a huge difference and kickstarted my journey to prioritize workplace self care. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have dates pre-filled in (you have to do that by hand). Other than that, I highly recommend it!

If you’re looking for a planner that’s a little bit more simplified, I also highly recommend the Moleskine planner (details in the next section).

Dated Planner

I used Panda Planners for quite a few years until I transitioned into a job where I had way less meetings to track (I didn’t need a full daily calendar in my planner) and most of my “to do” list was managed in digital task tracking systems. I switched to this Moleskine planner and loved it! I still found ways to integrate the daily prompts I had learned from the Panda Planner, but I really liked how simplified this product was and that it had dates pre-filled in. It comes in a few different sizes, but I personally liked this one since it was smaller while still having enough space to write in.

If you’re looking for a planner that helps you find a strong daily rhythm and reminds you to check in with yourself and reflect on your progress, I also highly recommend the Panda Planner (details in the previous section).

Jigsaw Puzzle
(just for fun)

I’m a huge puzzle nerd and was first introduced to this company when my husband bought me one of their puzzles last year. It was so much fun to put together, and since then I’ve bought 2 more with plans to try more! I wanted to recommend this product just for fun, in case there are any other board game or puzzle enthusiasts.

The artwork is beautiful and playful, the pieces are high quality with fun shapes, and the company adds a surprise at the end of each puzzle. They’re a lot of fun to put together!
